• Intensive Learning Center
The ILC works collaboratively with the Family Court, Day Treatment Intensive Learning Center Program, Juvenile Home, and the local district to plan for successful transition of adjudicated youth back into their local school and community. Although the majority of our students have average intellect, most of them are functioning significantly below grade level. The cause of this is often related to poor attendance patterns and other distractions in their lives. Because of the lower staff student ratio, students receive increased individual and small group work. Students are placed in classes based on individual academic and social needs. They attend seven classes daily. Emphasis is placed on improved attendance, academic gains, and social skills to insure success in school and community. Strengths of the ILC program lie in the collaborative work between caseworkers and school staff and the emphasis on individualizing plans for academic and social growth.
