KRESA Welcomes New Executive Director of Communications and Community Engagement, Sandy Barry-Loken

Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sandy Barry-Loken as our new Executive Director of Communications and Community Engagement. Bringing an extensive and impressive background in community investment and engagement, Sandy is set to lead our communication strategies and community initiatives starting December 11.

Sandy joins us from the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, where she significantly impacted the community as the Vice President of Community Impact and Investment. Her role in developing inclusive practices has been instrumental in working to improve community conditions in Kalamazoo County. Prior to her impactful work at the Foundation, Sandy served as the Executive Director of the Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run for over eight years. Sandy’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master of Arts in Counselor Education/Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University.

Her experience in managing large-scale community projects, team leadership, and strategic implementation has prepared her well for her new role at Kalamazoo RESA. We are confident that Sandy’s expertise in community engagement and her deep commitment to diversity and inclusion will drive our organization forward in meaningful and impactful ways.
