Future Ready Open House Helps Students Explore Career, College and Arts Opportunities

Kalamazoo County students and their families are invited to take the next steps in preparing for a bright future at the annual Future Ready Open House on Wed, Feb. 5, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Air Zoo.

Packed with potential, the Air Zoo will be buzzing with possibilities as middle and high school students chat with current students, meet instructors, ask questions, find their passions and discover all of the career preparation opportunities available to them.

Discover Kalamazoo RESA’s high-quality career, college and arts education programs, Education for the Arts, Education for Employment/Career and Technical Education and Early/Middle College, with courses in theater, dance, health science, engineering, construction and more.

Triangle Yellow Education for the Arts (EFA) offers arts-intensive courses in theater, music, dance and visual and media arts.

Triangle Blue Education for Employment/Career and Technical Education (EFE/CTE) offers hands-on career training in the high-demand, high-tech career fields of tomorrow with opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications.

Triangle Teal Early/Middle College (EMC) offers students the opportunity to earn an associate degree or certificate, while dual-enrolled at KVCC, with an extra year of high school.

“This is such a fun and high-energy event! Students and families have a great time interacting with course teachers, students, and industry professionals,” said Kalamazoo RESA Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Programming Deb Miller. “The Future Ready Open House is a wonderful way for students to explore the many, free opportunities available to help them prepare for a highly successful future.”

In the event of a snow day, the Future Ready Open House will be rescheduled for Thu, Feb. 6, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
