Kalamazoo RESA Welcomes Angie Straley, New Executive Assistant to the Superintendent
Congratulations to Angie Straley, who recently accepted the role of Executive Assistant to the Superintendent.
Supporting Kalamazoo RESA Superintendent Dave Campbell, Straley will assist the Board of Education as well as the Foundation Board, and will continually collaborate with local district superintendents.
Prior to accepting her new position with Kalamazoo RESA, Straley earned a degree in criminal justice from Western Michigan University and worked as the Assistant to the Trial Court Administrator at the 36th Circuit Court in Paw Paw. Straley sited her desire to create positive change as the catalyst for working in the criminal justice field. Straley also worked for Employment Services at Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), as well as the MiWorks PATH Program, formerly known as Jobs Education & Training.
“I am really excited to learn and grow as a person and a professional. Working with a team who is so passionate and inspired by the work that they do for kids. I wake up every day feeling so excited to come to work,” beamed Straley.
Straley and her husband Michael recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary and are raising two sons in Schoolcraft; Dylan who will begin as a sophomore at Elmhurst College in the fall, and Jacob who is a rising high school junior. The family also share their home with a loving dog, a Bernedoodle named Lily.
Straley enjoys most outdoor activities, including kayaking and running, and just finished her first full marathon, which she ran with a friend along the Kal-Haven Trail.
Welcome to the Kalamazoo RESA family, Angie! We look forward to working with you to continue inspiring educational excellence in Kalamazoo County.
