Environmental Sustainability at Kalamazoo RESA
Earth Day offers an excellent opportunity to reflect on the ways we can continue to practice environmental sustainability and reduce our impact on the environment.
As part of our continuous improvement strategy across all areas of the agency, Kalamazoo RESA is committed to promoting sustainable practices to ensure a healthier environment and a better future for generations to come.
Here are just a few ways we work toward those efforts:
- State-of-the-art WoodsEdge Learning Center campus is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified, a globally recognized symbol of sustainability
- LED Lightbulbs are utilized wherever possible across Kalamazoo RESA locations
- Motion sensor lights to detect when a room is empty and automatically shut off the lights
- Water bottle refilling stations to reduce the consumption of single-use plastic
- Paper, cardboard and plastic bottle recycling
- KRESA Print Center recycles all materials from its ShredEase service
- Dual-flush toilets
