    Introduction to the Aerial Drone Competition

    Elevate your mentoring, coaching, and competition skills!

    The Fall 2025 Sessions offer a dynamic professional development series designed for teachers, parents, and students eager to excel in the REC Aerial Drone Competitions.

    Hands-on Training

    Participants will gain essential skills in coding, drone operations, and competition strategy through hands-on exploration of the CoDrone EDU platform.  

    • Mentors will receive targeted training in mentorship techniques, collaboration, and guiding students through complex coding challenges.

    • Students will dive into technical training, programming, and flying drones in real competition scenarios.  

    These sessions provide the perfect blend of mentorship and technical expertise to help you and your team succeed in REC competitions!

    Program Benefits

    Limited to the first 10 teams:

    • 1 FREE competition Drone with Controller and Batteries  

    • 1 FREE team registration (each team has 3-5 members)

    • Complementary access to the game field during practice times

    • Pizza Party on the final day of practice in December!

    • Tournament registration costs MAY be covered if funds are available.
      -Regular season event fees typically range from $50 - $100 USD per team per event
      -Championship Event fees typically range from $150 - $300 per team

    Additional Funding Opportunities

    Teams can request 99h funds from their schools to help cover the cost of a second drone ($250) or the acquisition of a competition field for their school ($1,000). REMC can support this communication upon request. 99h grants are DUE by November, so inquire ASAP!

    Team Information Required

    Please gather the following information before completing the form for Mentors, Students, and their Parents:

    1. Mentor Information: Phone number and email
    2. Student Information: Email address, parent phone number, and parent email
    3. Team Preferences:
      • Desired Team Number
      • Desired Team Name
      • Coding Experience Level
      • Drone Flying Experience Level

     

    Eligibility

    • Starting Grades 7 through 12 at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year
    • Reside in a REMC 12W consortium district (others welcome, but no funding from 12W)

    • Establish a team of 3 to 5 students (MS/HS)

    • Obtain at least 1 mentor
