In AVMR Fractions, teachers will learn to recognize students� level of fraction understanding in the following areas: Units Coordination, Fraction Concepts. Teachers learn to administer and analyze diagnostic assessments, and how to use those results to plan whole class, small group, or individualized instruction. Past participants have loved attending these courses, and often say that it has completely changed the way they teach math now.

This series is designed for Science Leaders in their building/district. In this PD you will be digging into the skills it takes to lead change in your position. Analyzing what would be beneficial to supporting your school improvement goals and crafting an implementation and data analysis plan would be created.
Computer Science Fundamentals: K-5th Grades Workshop Series (MiSTEM Sponsored) View offerings/not available icon
Computer Science Fundamentals was built with elementary school educators in mind. The courses have been specifically tailored to students in Kindergarten-5th grade, with no prior experience assumed. The lessons in CS Fundamentals are presented with the understanding that many teachers do not have any previous computer science training, and educators are therefore encouraged to learn along with their students.
PBL (Project Based Learning) Skills Development (MiSTEM Sponsored) View offerings/not available icon
Participants will receive articles, research to read and understand before the first session. This reading will describe the essence of high quality PBL (HQPBL). Each one hour zoom session will offer strategies and resources to help participants give practice to one skill in the HQPBL pedagogy in preparation for the implementation of a project. Students will understand and will have begun to develop these skills so that more of their time will be spent in actual work on the project.
