  • Preprimary Evaluation Team (PET)

     

     

    The PET program provides developmental assessment and planning for children ages birth through 5-years-old who reside within one of the following school districts: Climax-Scotts, Comstock, Galesburg-Augusta, Gull Lake, Kalamazoo, Parchment, Portage, Schoolcraft, or Vicksburg.

    *Please contact your local school district if your child is 5 by September 1.

    Any interested parent or care provider may refer their preschool age child suspected of developmental delay in the following areas:
     
    • Speech and Language
    • Social and emotional
    • Vision
    • Hearing
    • Motor
    • Problem-solving
    • Self-help
    • Autism
     
    A team of professionals will assist the parent in investigating all appropriate programs available for their child including special education. These programs may be offered by the family's local school district, through Kalamazoo RESA or other community agencies.

    Build Up helps parents and their eligible children, ages 3 through 5, access special education supports and services as they develop and learn skills before they go to kindergarten.
