• Teacher Academy

The Teacher Academy is designed to introduce students to various careers in the Education and Training Career Cluster. Students will gain yearlong hands-on experience working in a pre-kindergarten, elementary or middle school classroom four days per week. In addition, students will learn the necessary background knowledge of child development and principles of effective teaching through a hybrid program of learning which includes weekly online learning, class meetings, extended research projects, field trips and interviews. Students work under the joint direction of an EFE instructor and a master teacher in their area of interest as they learn to plan and direct instruction for individuals and groups, develop materials, assist with record keeping and complete other responsibilities of teachers and other school personnel. Discover the rewards and joys of teaching! Students may take this course for one or two years.
