EFE Computerized Manufacturing Students and Instructor Honored at Michigan Design Prize Competition
Three teams of EFE Computerized Manufacturing students were recognized as Honorable Mentions during the Michigan Design Council’s Third Annual Michigan Design Prize Competition on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Hosted at the University of Michigan Museum of art, the event was attended by 250 K-12 students, their families, educators and administrators, as well as industry and State government partners.
This year, the Design Prize challenge was to create and design a product that would help people explore and enjoy Michigan’s state parks.
Team Michigan Macro Makers, comprised of EFE students Zachary West, Ryan Sink, Chase Perry and Maxwell Tidey were recognized for their project on the Mackinac Island State Park.
Team DELL Express, made up of Taylor Burson, DJ Bullock, Cody VanderHorst and Parker St. Clair, were honored for their project on the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Parks in Ontonagon.
The Wolverines, Tim Axtell, David Benedict, Kyle Rose and Tanner Groves, was recognized for their project on the Newaygo State Park.
Additionally, EFE Computerized Manufacturing instructor Greg Mills received the Director’s Award, which honors an instructor that exemplifies teaching creative problem solving and design thinking skills in the classroom.
Congratulations to these EFE students as well as Mr. Mills for this impressive recognition of their hard work and creative insight.
