KRESA Work-Based Learning Coordinator Scott Wills Receives 2022 MCPA Honoree of the Year Award
Congratulations to Work-based Learning Coordinator Scott Wills, who was recently awarded the 2022 MCPA Honoree of the Year Award at the Michigan Career Placement Association state conference. Wills was nominated by peers for this outstanding award and recognition.
The Honoree of the Year Award is an MCPA tradition that began in 1983 and stands for the highest level of professional recognition and respect. The MCPA provides regional support and professional learning for its members focused around work-based learning and education. Scott serves as the representative for the Southwest Michigan region in partnership with Tim DeVary, of Van Buren Technology Center.
Colleagues showed a lot of admiration and respect for Wills and had many kind words to say about him. Jeni Opel, Administrator of Career Development at Kalamazoo RESA, had this to say, which was shared during the award ceremony:
"Scott has a passion and genuine love for his work," said Opel. "Providing career exploration and work experience to students is what drives him each and every day. Trustworthiness is a key core value that is the base layer in all that Scott does. He can be counted on to follow through and carry out tasks, be responsive to students, and be a resource to those around him. We are fortunate enough to witness the impact he has on students and our communities, and I am personally thankful to have him as a member of our Work-based Learning and Career and Technical Education team here in Kalamazoo and Southwest Michigan."
Congratulations to Scott Wills for this well-deserved recognition!
