Kalamazoo RESA Honors Outstanding Seniors

The 2021 Kalamazoo RESA Outstanding Senior Awards celebrated 64 Kalamazoo County students from Kalamazoo RESA’s Education for the Arts (EFA) and Education for Employment/Career and Technical Education (EFE/CTE) programs, awarding a total of $58,500 in scholarships.

The seniors graduated from schools across the county and have worked diligently in the classroom, as well as the local community. Each was awarded a scholarship made possible by the generous contributions of 46 donors.

“Outstanding Seniors, you have been living in a historic season of disruption from the COV ID 19 experience, which has caused much anxiety and has impacted you in your final year of high school. I am confident that we will be a resilient community and that each of you will not only press on but will develop plans, grow and prosper,” said Eric Stewart, Kalamazoo RESA assistant superintendent of secondary programming. “We are proud of you and your accomplishments and look forward to seeing you flourish in your next steps.”

The Kalamazoo RESA Outstanding Senior Awards is a collaborative effort between many partners: public and non-public school districts, Kalamazoo RESA, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Western Michigan University and more than 400 businesses.

As a result of COVID-19, the annual Kalamazoo RESA Outstanding Seniors Awards Banquet was held virtually since it remains important to recognize these high achievers for their academic accomplishments.
