Cosmetology & Barbering
-
Study to become a licensed professional cosmetologist or barber in this state-certified program. Gain experience in practical aspects of the cosmetology industry such as skin and haircare, makeup and more. Michigan cosmetology course standards require 1,500 hours of mandatory attendance and 1,800 hours of mandatory attendance for barbering. In order to meet the requirement, students must commit to an extended day through their 11th and 12th grade years and the summer that falls in between. Upon successful completion of this prerequisite, students will be prepared to take the Michigan State Board examination.
