Blind and Low-Vision Services (BLV)
Kalamazoo RESA’s BLV program supports students who are blind or low vision through a team of Teacher Consultants for the Visually Impaired (VITCs), Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS), and Braille/Media Specialists. These professionals provide direct instruction, consultative services, and access to curriculum materials in collaboration with local districts, families, and community agencies. Students may qualify for services if their vision, even with correction, impacts their development or educational performance.
We empower students with the skills and resources to grow in safety and independence in their classrooms and communities.
