EFE Student Artists Assist Syrian Refugees

EFE students assist Syrian refugee women Education for Employment (EFE) Art & Design Career Skills student artists assisted with a jewelry making workshop for Syrian refugee women at the Kalamazoo Islamic Center on Friday, May 25, 2018.

Deshani Raines, Kiara Ford, Mariah Crenshaw and Zaniek Armstead of Kalamazoo Central High School and their instructor Kellen Deau, worked alongside local artist and advocate Anna Joy Tucker, from Consider Grace, to encourage and teach these women marketable jewelry-making skills.

All jewelry made during the workshop was sold during the June Art Hop.
