Kalamazoo County Students Impress at the 4th Annual STEM Showcase
Kalamazoo County K-12 students demonstrated innovative thinking and hard work at the 4th Annual STEM Showcase on Friday, May 12th.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum strives to educate students for tomorrow’s in-demand careers. Currently, STEM classes are offered at every school district in Kalamazoo County, and the program shows only the potential to grow and expand further.
Here are just a few examples of some of the projects on display at the 2017 STEM Showcase:
Biomedical STEM students Alli and Sydney from Parchment Middle School demonstrated their skills as they used forensics to narrow down potential “suspects.”
Cole of Vicksburg High School created a desktop version of a CNC Mill, which has the ability to move along the Z-axis.
Clara and Matt of Schoolcraft High School study Computer Integrated Manufacturing STEM at Vicksburg High School. The team designed and build a robotic security guard and dog duo with built-in video cameras.
