Scholarship and Grant Recipients thank the Kalamazoo RESA Foundation
In 2015/16 the Kalamazoo RESA Foundation awarded $60,672 in scholarships and grants to students and educators pursuing further education.
Zachary Wagner, Employee Dependent Scholarship-
“College is very expensive but a degree is needed to have earning potential. My plan is to be a Sports Broadcaster. I will be attending Western Michigan University for the next 4 years, where I will major in Communications with a Minor in Sports Management, and WMU has a partnership with ESPN for future internships. The Kalamazoo RESA Foundation will help me to earn my degree and be successful in a job that I have known I wanted to do since I was 8 years old. Thank you so much for helping me to work toward my goals.”

Nicola Fitsimmons, Targeted Assistance Grant Recipient-
“After being a paraprofessional with Kalamazoo RESA for several years, I am now back in school with hopes of becoming a special education teacher. I am currently attending Grand Valley State University and in just a couple of months I will be beginning their Graduate Teacher Certification program and be that much closer to my goal. I am immensely grateful for the Targeted Assistance Grant, which helped pay for some of my tuition this year!”Leslie Brewer, Targeted Assistance Grant Recipient-
“The Kalamazoo RESA Targeted Assistance Grant inspired me to go back to school. The grant helped pay for classes and books. I am passionate about the education of students with special needs and look forward to making an impact as teacher when my degree is finished. I am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity.”To donate to the Kalamazoo RESA Foundation, visit JustGive.org, or print and submit a Kalamazoo RESA Foundation Donation Form form to make your contribution.
