CTE Veterinary Science Students Shine at State Convention

Congratulations to our talented Career and Technical Education (CTE) Veterinary Science students for their outstanding performance at the Michigan Future Farmers of America (FFA) State Convention at Michigan State University! Four of our seniors represented Kalamazoo RESA Career Connect with impressive semester-long research projects, earning them an invitation to compete at the state level.

Seniors Violet Mercadal and Ashlyn Teal from Loy Norrix High School took home the Gold Award for their fascinating research project. Their study investigated feline behavior, specifically whether changing the color of wet cat food would increase consumption.

Seniors Mya Jones and Karis Wintz from Gull Lake High School also earned their spot as state finalists. Their research focused on how toy rotation can influence and change behavior in cats.

We are incredibly proud of Karis, Mya, Violet, and Ashlyn for their fantastic work on their research projects and their dedication to their CTE Veterinary Science class.
