Commercial Road Skills Test
Commercial Road Skills Tests are available by appointment to individuals working with a school district or private company who meet the proper requirements.
Once the application is accepted, appointments will be scheduled at least 2 business days in advance, per requirements set by the Michigan Department of State (MDOS).

Appointment Rates and Policy
Commercial Road Skills Testing Rates are non-refundable and must be paid to the examiner at the beginning of the appointment by cash, check, or money order*:
- Class A $150.00
- Evaluation $220.00
- Class BC $125.00
- BC with “P/S” endorsement $100.00 (invoiced to the school district)
*Missed or late arrivals may be subject to a $20.00 fee
Applicants must bring the following (no photocopies):
- Valid Michigan Driver's License
- Michigan Commercial Learner's Permit (including an Authorization to Test Qualified Nonresident for out-of-state CLP)
- Medical Card (if available)
- Current Proof of Insurance
- Current Registration (truck & trailer)
- Vehicle that passes the pre-trip inspection criteria
- Air Gauge & Tread Depth Gauge
- Class A, B, or C applicants who do not meet the Document, Equipment, or Inspection portion as set by MDOS can schedule one more test for a reduced rate of $75.00.
- Pupil Transportation Vehicle “P/S” applicants who do not meet the Document, Equipment, or Inspection portion as set by MDOS can schedule one more test for a waived fee.
- All applicants who fail to meet the Basic Vehicle Control Skills Test or On-Road Driving as set by MDOS can schedule another test at the normal rate.
