Stanley’s Success Story: From Work-Based Learning to Steady Employment
For Stanley, work-based learning was more than just an opportunity to gain job experience. It was a chance to build confidence, develop new skills, and take meaningful steps toward his future career goals.
Stanley began his work-based learning journey through KRESA Transition Services at Bronson Healthcare, where he gained valuable workplace experience as a locker attendant, where he washed and folded towels, collected dirty towels, and stocked clean towels strengthening important employment skills. Through that placement, he learned firsthand what it means to be part of a professional team while building the confidence needed to succeed in a workplace environment.
After his experience at Bronson, Stanley transitioned to a work-based learning placement at Meijer, where he began pushing carts. There, his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dedication quickly stood out. Stanley embraced every opportunity to learn, consistently demonstrating reliability and a willingness to grow.
His hard work paid off.
At the completion of his work-based learning placement, Stanley was offered a permanent position at Meijer, a testament to his commitment that reflects both his commitment and the impact of real-world learning experiences.
Stanley credits the Work-Based Learning Program with helping him develop the skills and confidence needed to be successful on the job. Today, he enjoys his work at Meijer and takes pride in how far he has come, and what comes next.
Stanley’s next goal is to become a stocker inside the store, an exciting step that will allow him to continue growing his skills and advancing in his career.
