Seeds for Success
Seeds for Success is a free home visiting program designed to support parents and caregivers of young children in Kalamazoo County.
From pregnancy until your child enters kindergarten (prenatal to age 5), you can participate in Seeds for Success and get helpful guidance right in the comfort of your home. Parenting a little one is an amazing journey, but it can also be challenging and sometimes overwhelming. Seeds for Success is here to walk alongside you, providing knowledge, tools, and encouragement as you are your child’s first and most important teacher.
How to Obtain Services
Anyone in Kalamazoo County with a young child (prenatal to age 5) can join Seeds for Success. This program is open to all families because we believe all parents can use support and all children benefit from enriched early experiences. All are welcome: first-time parents, single parents, teen parents, families with multiple children, foster/adoptive parents, grandparents raising grandchildren.
What to Expect
When you join the program, you will be paired with a friendly, trained Parent Educator who will become a trusted resource for your family. They will visit you (usually in your home) on a regular schedule, depending on your preferences and needs. Home visits are scheduled at times convenient for you and can also be done at a different location or virtually if you prefer. During a visit, the Parent Educator will share child development information, help you track milestones, and coach you on ways to encourage your child’s development through play and everyday routines. Every child is unique, so we tailor our support to your child’s strengths and any areas of concern.
