Education ReConnection

On-Site Education

High School Diploma Program (year-round)

Education Reconnection began in 2013 with the intention of helping students to reengage and complete their educational goals.  Since its inception, all local school districts have partnered with our program.

Education Reconnection allows students to remain enrolled in their school district while attending our program to complete their credits.  Through our partnership, we have been able to increase school graduation rates in the districts that we serve.

The ideal candidate for this program is an individual who needs to be reconnected with high school and has a desire to earn a high school diploma. Students must be between the age of 16-22 and need a flexible learning schedule.

We prioritize a personal learning plan for each student with one-on one appointments. Students have opportunities for work-based learning, employability skills, internships, apprenticeship, and much more!

Credit Recovery (year-round)

High school students who are behind on credits can enroll in our Credit Recovery program to get back on track for graduation.  Students are referred by their high school counselors to enroll in this program.

Students use the online platform, Edmentum, for the curriculum and our classroom teacher, works with students to complete classes. We offer all core classes and tons of electives needed for students to graduate.

The ideal candidate for this program is an individual who

  • Is at risk of not graduating due to falling behind in credits
  • Needs individualized or flexible pacing to succeed due to life circumstances/commitments
  • Is seeking enrollment into a CTE program, but missing required course(s)
  • has failed one or more required courses and needs to retake them to graduate on time

Our approach to education is unique and personalized offering one-on-one learning between student and teacher.  Students have access to career coaches on-site who can support and connect them with opportunities such as career exploration and internships.  Our hybrid model between in-person and virtual learning has proven successful for our students.

The High School Diploma Program was exactly what my teenager needed after going through an extraordinarily challenging time in their life. My child was able to go downtown to attend class-time and received additional support from Ms. Onika and other individuals. My child felt seen by Ms.Onika in a variety of ways during their time in this program. Onika built trust with them through social and educational experiences. I regularly share with other parents whose child might be a good fit for the program. It is definitely a needed resource in our community.A proud mom from KPSparent of a graduate

In her own words:

The Education Reconnection program is designed to support youth in achieving their academic and career aspirations through practical, goal-oriented pathways. It offers a structured yet compassionate environment where students are empowered to succeed in both education and employment. Central to the program’s success is a dedicated team who are committed to creating a culture of belonging, respect, and individualized support. We take intentional time to understand each student’s background, strengths, and challenges, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and valued.

We prioritize building meaningful relationships with students, recognizing that connection and trust are essential foundations for learning. Our approach centers around understanding who our students are, what motivates them, and the lived experiences that have shaped their journey to our classroom
